Workclass ROV & LARS Deck Weight Calculator

Engineering calculator for road mobilization of 150HP–250HP deepwater workclass ROVs, hydraulic A-frames, armored umbilical winches, and offshore control vans. Computes axle loading, bridge formula compliance, and transport center-of-gravity.

Umbilical Winch Drum Balancing

ROV umbilical winches concentrate up to 30 metric tons into a compact 3.5m footprint. Because the armored electro-optical cable spools unevenly during sea-recovery, the center of gravity shifts towards the active drum flange. Transporters must perform axle weigh-ins before departing coastal docks.

02

Hydraulic A-Frame Latch Pins

During transit, LARS A-frames must be rotated down to horizontal stowage and secured with hardened shear latch pins. Hydraulic cylinders must be relieved to zero pressure with secondary mechanical locking turnbuckles to prevent boom movement under dynamic braking forces.

03

DNVGL-ST-E273 Pad Eyes & Skids

Offshore ROV containers and control vans built to DNVGL-ST-E273 incorporate certified four-point lifting slings and corner castings. Tie-down chains must attach strictly to rated skid lugs rather than ISO container locks when loaded on drop-deck trailers to withstand 1.0G lateral loads.
