01 Bulk Niobium Cavity String Rigging & Ceramic Power Coupler Protection

Superconducting Radio-Frequency (SRF) cryomodules for facilities like SLAC LCLS-II, Fermilab PIP-II, and Brookhaven EIC house strings of 8 bulk niobium 1.3 GHz 9-cell accelerating cavities. These cavities are aligned inside an outer vacuum vessel using precision fiberglass support posts. Rigid road shocks or high-frequency vibration during interstate transport can induce ceramic RF feedthrough cracking or loosen cavity tuner drive rods.

Active Air-Ride + Wire-Rope Skid

Cryomodule sits inside an articulated transport cradle suspended by 12 multi-directional stainless steel wire-rope isolators tuned to a resonant frequency below 5 Hz.

Continuous Ion Pump Telemetry

Onboard uninterruptible lithium battery packs power miniature getter-ion pumps maintaining beamline UHV pressure below 10⁻¹⁰ mbar with live satellite uplink.

Coupler Waveguide Bracing

Rigid temporary aluminum transport struts clamp fundamental power couplers (FPCs) to the outer vacuum tank, preventing cantilevered whipping stresses.

02 Cryomodule Transport Shock Transmissibility & UHV Vacuum Simulator

Simulate trailer suspension damping, road pothole G-shock inputs, and battery-backed ion pump hold times across cross-country laboratory transfer routes.

03 Cleanroom Delivery, RGA Outgassing Check, and Beamline Docking

Residual Gas Analysis (RGA)

Upon trailer arrival inside the receiving cleanroom airlock, technicians connect an RGA quad-mass spectrometer to scan for hydrocarbon or helium leaks before breaking transport container seals.

Laminar Airflow Hood Canopy

When unbolting the shipping container top canopy, an array of mobile HEPA fan-filter units blankets the cryomodule in ISO Class 4 laminar airflow with air velocity ≥ 0.45 m/s.

Beamline Tunnel Elevator Rig

Custom hydraulic elevator platforms lower the 12-meter assembly down a 40-foot shaft into the underground accelerator enclosure, transferring onto rail tug dollies with optical steering.
