EXSPEEDITE / Flatbed and specialized

Flatbed, Heavy Haul and Specialized Freight TMS

Configuration, documents and negotiated accessorials.

Keep the specialized movement and its commercial commitments aligned

A specialized shipment can change when cargo dimensions, equipment, route conditions or instructions change. EXSPEEDITE TMS provides dispatch, rating, document imaging, driver settlement and accounting scope around the movement. The architecture discussion should connect those records to the approved operating package for your actual work.

Start with a redacted shipment that requires more than a standard linehaul rate. Include a configuration change, an accessorial and a document review. The useful demonstration shows which facts support the next action and which decision remains with your qualified operating team.

A permit reference is not a route authorization engine

State permits, axle analysis, bridge conditions, escorts and securement involve specific requirements and authorized decisions. This page does not claim that EXSPEEDITE issues permits, engineers axle distribution or guarantees route clearance. If those functions depend on an external provider, identify the handoff and evidence source in the proposed scope.

A system should associate the approved documents and instructions with the configuration they cover. A change in cargo, trailer, axle arrangement or planned movement can make an earlier approval inapplicable. The demonstration should show how the responsible team reviews that dependency rather than simply carrying forward a completed checkbox.

Follow a specialized movement through review and billing

  1. Capture the customer order, cargo description and required instruction references. Identify the source and version of supplied dimensions and weights.
  2. Associate the proposed equipment and operating package. Keep the review status and responsible owner visible.
  3. Link applicable permit, route, escort or securement documents from the authorized source. Confirm their relevance through the carrier's approved process.
  4. Dispatch the authorized movement and preserve changes and communications with the shipment. A revised configuration needs the appropriate renewed review.
  5. Apply the negotiated linehaul, stop, tarping or other accessorial terms using the approved agreement and supporting evidence.
  6. Calculate the agreed driver-pay items, review adjustments and reconcile the financial handoff to the operating record.

Bill the agreement, not a generic accessorial label

Tarpaulin billing can depend on the service actually requested, performed and documented. A field named tarp does not by itself establish the amount or eligibility. Bring the agreement and an example of a disputed or revised item. The rating demonstration should show the selected rule and the evidence supporting the proposed charge.

The same principle applies to detention, layover, escorts and other specialized costs. Separate pass-through costs from the carrier's own charges and review the applicable agreement. Keep the authorization and supporting document retrievable after the invoice is issued so a later question does not require reconstructing the move from memory.

Preserve the carrier's decision authority

A specialized operating record should expose uncertainty before a dispatch action depends on it. A missing document, conflicting dimension or equipment substitution is an operational question with an owner. A software alert supports that process; it is not an engineering signature or movement release.

Request a specialized-freight review with Scott Elliott. Bring a redacted order, equipment configuration, accessorial agreement and one difficult change. We will define a demonstration that distinguishes core TMS behavior from specialized integrations and authorized engineering work.

Questions from specialized carriers

Does EXSPEEDITE issue state permits?

No permit-issuance capability is promised here. Define the approved permit provider, source record, configuration relationship and review process in the proposed operating design.

Does the TMS calculate safe axle distribution?

This page makes no engineering authorization claim. Use the appropriate qualified analysis and current applicable requirements. The architecture can connect the resulting approved evidence to the movement it covers.

Can tarping and other accessorials be evaluated?

Yes. Bring the actual agreement, eligibility conditions and expected calculation. Test a correction and disputed item as well as a straightforward charge.

What happens if equipment changes after review?

The demonstration should identify which instructions and approvals depend on the changed configuration and which reviews must be repeated. An earlier completed status should not imply that a different configuration is authorized.

Can drivers have different pay arrangements?

The baseline includes loaded/empty, percentage, hourly and stop-pay arrangements plus recurring deductions. Evaluate your specific agreement, approval and adjustment process with an independently calculated example.

What would make the pilot useful?

Trace one difficult move from supplied facts through authorized review, dispatch, documents, charge calculation and settlement. Measure unresolved evidence and handling effort without inventing a safety or revenue result.
