01 Subterranean Pit Geotechnical Integrity & Bedrock Anchor Verification

Heavy hydraulic closed-die forging presses exert immense cyclic shock loading during each stroke. The subterranean foundation pit houses the press lower platen, hydraulic return cylinders, and hydraulic fluid supply headers. The foundation mat must sit directly on sound bedrock reinforced with post-tensioned rock anchors drilled up to 30 meters deep.

Compressive Stress Limit

Maximum allowable foundation bearing stress must not exceed 45% of 28-day concrete core strength (minimum f'c = 60 MPa high-density silica fume mix).

Groundwater Hydrostatic Seal

Multi-tier bentonite membrane waterstop barrier with continuous pit sump monitoring to prevent hydraulic lift or buoyancy destabilization.

Post-Tension Tendons

Grade 1860 MPa 7-wire low-relaxation steel strands installed in grouted corrugated ducts with optical fiber strain sensors monitoring residual pre-stress.

03 Horizontal-to-Vertical Upending & Pit Descent Sequence

PHASE 1: DOCKING

Position Goldhofer THP/SL transporter inside forge bay beneath 800t strand-jack runway. Pin upper trunnion lifting lugs to equalized spreader bar.

PHASE 2: TANDEM ROTATION

Strand jacks lift head of crosshead while mobile tailing crane controls foot pivot. Synchronized hydraulic hoist rates ensure cable angle never exceeds 5 degrees off plumb.

PHASE 3: DETACH & PLUMB

Upon reaching full 90-degree vertical alignment, tailing crane sling tension is relaxed to zero and unpinned. Optical laser targets confirm plumb line within 0.25 mm/m.

PHASE 4: PIT DESCENT

Hydraulic strand jacks lower the 320t casting 18.5 meters into pit onto pre-grouted spherical leveling shoes. Tie-rod guide sleeves lubricated and pre-aligned.
