Transformer Nitrogen Blanket & 3-Axis Shock Audit
Technical preservation specification for large power transformers (LPT): positive nitrogen gas pressure compensation, dew point moisture telemetry, and tri-axial impact recorder g-force threshold audits.
01 Gas Pressure & Environmental Telemetry
02 Preservation & Warranty Determination WARRANTY PROTECTED
All preservation parameters compliant. Positive nitrogen blanket integrity maintained throughout transit. No excessive dynamic coupling or humping shocks recorded.
Positive N2 Gas Blanket (2.0–3.5 PSI)
High-voltage transformers are shipped drained of oil to save weight, with core and coils blanketed under ultra-dry nitrogen. Positive pressure prevents ambient atmospheric moisture ingress through gaskets during barometric and elevation changes.
Dew Point Moisture Limits (< -50°C)
Moisture is the primary enemy of solid cellulosic winding insulation. IEEE C57.93 mandates that dew point at receipt must be colder than -50°C (< 20 PPM water vapor) to prevent expensive factory re-dryout procedures on site.
Tri-Axial Shock Calibration
Continuous electronic impact recorders log peak acceleration events across three orthogonal axes. Shocks exceeding 2.5g longitudinal or 1.5g lateral void OEM manufacturer warranties and trigger mandatory internal core inspection.
